Wild About Britain - an award winning site with information on British butterflies, wildlife, nature and the environment with forums, news, photography, events calendars, interactive maps, product reviews and a wildlife directory - covering everything from British birds, insects, wildflowers, fungi and trees, to astronomy, geology, marine life and the weather.

All Nature - a nature photography site where you can view a wide range of images and post your own.
The Garden Safari is an English version of Dutch site with many helpful photos, identification tips and general facts about a wide range of species, including many insects.
Hoverflies
www.hoverflies.org.uk is a superb site, not just for images but with status and species information. It is the site run by the hoverfly recording scheme and part of the Dipterists Forum.
J. Lindsay - Ecology of Commanster (a Belgian village). Lots of good photos of a huge range of species. The hoverfly page offers a very useful library of images of many species found in Britain.
Butterflies
UK Butterflies is an excellent site with many images plus comprehensive information about all the British found species.
Guy Padfield's European butterflies - a useful photographic guide to many species.
Matt's European Butterflies - another useful photographic guide
Moths
The Leicestershire and Rutland Moth Group has an excellent web site, with detailed lists and photos of all the moths seen in the county.
UK Moths has a very comprehensive photo library of virtually all UK moths - with a helpful image search.
Jeff Higgott's UK Lepidoptera is another excellent and comprehensive site, especially good for mico-moths.
