Turnstone - Arenaria interpres

Though not uncommon on rocky shores, they are sometimes hard to spot as they scuttle around pools and rocks searching for food. Their mottled plumage provides good camourflage though the orange legs are more obvious. The Turnstone is only a winter visitor from its breeding grounds in the far north - from Canada to Siberia.
