Snowy Egret (Egretta thula)

Once hunted for its spectacular head plumes, it is now protected and relatively common. It is easily distinguished from other white egrets by the yellow feet, though these become more orangy in breeding birds, which also develops a red lore (area between bill and eye) as well as the plumes on the head and neck.

This is an immature bird, recognised by having yellow/green on the back of its legs. Sanibel Island, Florida
