Ring-billed
Gull (Larus delawarensis)
Whilst
the summwer plumage is very similar to that seen in winter,
like many gulls there are major differences throughout the
first three years. Starting brown and speckled, at each
annual change it becomes whiter in body and greyer on the
wings. The black ring on the bill develops from the second
year. It is a common bird of coastal areas, across all of
North America.
