Little
Owl (Athene noctua)
The
smallest of the UK's 5 resident owl species. It was introduced
into Britain in the 19th century. It is partly diurnal which
coupled to its habit of perching on posts in full view means
it is often seen. It eats worms, insects, birds and small
mammals.
