Common Tern (Sterna hirundo)

Though very similar to the Arctic Tern, the Common Tern can be identified by the black tip to its red beak. Unlike the Arctic Tern, it breeds in the UK, often utilising artificial rafts set up to attrtact terns at nature reserves. It is a summer visitor to the UK, spending the winter in Africa.
