Common Gull (Larus canus)

More correctly called the Mew Gull, it is not as common as some other gulls. Larger than the very common Black-headed Gull but smaller than the Herring Gull, it also has green-yellow legs to help identify it. In the UK it breeds along the coast and at inland lakes.

This summer bird has a pure white head. In winter the head is streaked grey. Taken in Eastern Denmark.
