Britain's
second commonest bird, the Chaffinch is widespread in gardens,
parks and woodland. It often forages for food, mainly seeds,
on the ground. It has a loud voice and the male sings frequently,
making it one of the most widely heard birds.
The males have a pink/orange front and a blue/grey head. Rutland Water, Rutland, UK. 2nd February 2007
