Blackcap - Sylvia atricapilla

A common and easily recognised warbler - the males have a black cap and females a chestnut cap. Although it is mainly a summer visitor there are increasing numbers that stay in the UK overwinter. It has a lovely fluting song though often sings whilst hidden in bushes.
