The Dingo is a type of wild dog, believed to have descended from the Indian Wolf. Dingoes are not just found in Australia but are also located in pockets across south Asia. Young males may live alone but most live in packs of up to 12 animals. They don't bark but communicate with wolf-like howls. They are opportunistic feeders, working individually and in packs to catch small animals mainly, though they can kill large prey such as kangaroos, sheep and deer. They can interbreed with domestic dogs and many mainland dingoes are now considered hybrids.
